Incredible India....Indeed.

India. A country many people are proud to be a part of.
Our country is known for the rich heritage, the numerous cultures, the various cultural art, the ever so welcoming people, the unique spices..etc.

I don't despise the country. But sometimes,i'm not proud to be a part of this country. No,the country is amazing, and i'm privileged to be born and brought up here, and be a part of it.
But, do we know the things that happen behind this lovely portrait painted by the government?
This is what happens in our country. The reality.
We live in a society, where if you hang out with too many boys, you're termed as a slut.

If you're a boy and you hang out with many girls, your family is to be blamed for.
If you're an independent woman, you might be a tough shell.
If you're a widow, you can't remarry.
If you party too much, you've been brought up in a bad house.
If you go do anything wrong, your mother is to blame.
If girls smoke,she's characterless.
If a boy forces a girl to have sex,he's a stud. And the girl is 'easy' to get with.
And till this date, People in villages,or even the urban areas, despise girl children. Especially from the middle class and lower class category.

We call our country incredible despite the fact that the women of this country are demeaned to such a level where they're meant to only sit in 4 walls and cook, clean, take care of kids.

Our country has advanced in so many fields-Art,Law,Science,Economy wise, etc.
And yet, here we are in 2013,where we still disrespect women.
Only the educated people act sensible. And unfortunately, we are an over-populated country, so we can't go to every slum area,or every doorstep & explain to people, that women are so much more than they are treated.

In India,we have very religious people. We forget to see that along side gods, there are also " goddesses ".
I can't say education can help make a big difference. It's always a start though.
And our Government. Useless.

Don't rely on people. Spread the message. Treat women with respect. Your mother is a woman too. Learn to treat the other women with similar respect.
peace.xx
