The Real Deal

We're all cradled by innocence.

True. Aren't we all protected by a comforting layer of love and luxurious things in life?!
Since birth, most of us fortunate ones have been born with a silver spoon.
Even if most you haven't, your parents have gone to the ends of the earth to fulfill all your wishes.
Even the completely stupid, irrelevant And unnecessary ones.

So!
Have we ever wondered WHY they do all this ?!

Yes!They're our parents. Our Guardian Angels. And in some way, according to the nature's law,it's their responsibility.
We're so protected from the world, that we don't realize anything happening at all.
To all of us,our families are our worlds.
Nothing more, nothing less.
But when some one realllllllllly close to you is snatched away from you,in the most unimaginable way, you start to realize the actual facts of life.
The Real Deal.

I Grew up overnight.
All of us, in our own ways try to hold on to our immaturity.
I realized that our age, is our ticket to behave like immature brats.
You don't see 20+ year olds behaving like they're 15,do you?
Everything has a time, and a certain limit. Oh, and a warranty stamp.
So, growing up, is a very hard thing.
You realize, the world out there is BAD,demeaning, disgusting, shameless, pathetic.
I'd happily love to add a few more adjectives, but they seem to be just about enough.
We're so busy in OUR world, being so sheltered by our family, that we fail to notice the impurity in this world.
to an extent, parents are right.
But i honestly feel, one should grow up at 18.
Believe me,i challenged god that i would hold on to my immaturity till i was about 20+
And look where i am now?

Like i said ,everything is uncertain.
You never know how harsh this world can be.
You never know what you have until it's taken away.
You don't really know if the grass is greener on the other side.
You don't know what's waiting for you around the corner.
Unpredictable, isn't it?

Life hits you hard. Real hard. That's the real deal.
I don't know what you can do about it, cuz i'm still realizing and learning.
"Life is hard. But you can either learn from it, or wait for it to teach you."

So don't wait for it to teach you.
Become strong. And don't let petty issues ruin your life.
There's so much more.
Keep your head up high & Face life.
Blessed be xx.

A Tribute To My Daddykins !

"You were born of dust,
And ended that way.
You left too soon,
I'd always have that to say."

Father. A word most of us get emotional about. A very important part of our lives are our parents.
In the speedy pace of life,we often look at our parents as immortal beings. Like they're meant to be with us forever.
But it only takes a small, silent, and deep, irreversible process for us to realize, they aren't gonna be around that long. You can't feel the smile on your face.

On the 24th of july,2013, my Father,my daddykins, passed away.
A very terrible way of going. And that too,so far away.
He was on a flight to kolkata, and he started sweating.
It was a symptom of a heart attack.
No one realized, that my father was a diabetic, and his sugar had dropped.
If only, someone knew, and gave him something sweet, i wouldn't be writing this post.
If only.
He passed away, and all we have left,is his stuff, and his memories.

When your parent passes away, a parent you look up to,for guidance, advice, secrets. You shatter.
When i found out, i brokedown, and said "Why Not Just kill myself. Life isn't worth it anymore"
Everyone is close to a parent. Both of them. But dad left.
Shock. Pain.Death wish. All that came to my mind.
And silently, over night i turned from a spoilt lil immature pampered brat to a mature young adult.

Life has it's funny ways of making one realize, that nothing comes out of prayer.
A man who believed in god. A woman who prayed for him, just before she heard about him. A child who prayed for her family whenever she could.
God is unfair, and life is nothing but a cruel game.

Cremating your own father at such a young age,is a task.
Hearing the same sentence from everyone " be strong", becomes just like a song.
Life is sudden, Death uncertain.

Looking at his lifeless body, i held it together, for my mom.
It's hard being the only child and going through this.
But you learn to accept the fact and you learn to be strong.
Its been three days. It feels like years. Its hard to cope. But strong is the only option.

So,i have nothing left to say. Except that i let go.
And i'd like to say a few words:
I don't know if god exists. But if he does,i want him to know that from now on my dad is my god. He was a very loved man. Loving, caring, kind, gorgeous, handsome, perfect, friendly, supportive, are just a few adjectives to describe him.

I love you papa. You're mine always. You're here, no matter what.
I will take care wherever you left off.

Everyone who knows you,is in a state of shock, cuz this was a big loss.
Pop,Next lifetime,promise,ok ?<3 :')
God bless your soul you courageous man.
I'm your daughter,i'm strong like you,and i'll always be your princess.
I let you go. Set you free. I love you papa. <3
Forever and always,to infinity and beyond <3

Incredible India....Indeed.

India. A country many people are proud to be a part of.
Our country is known for the rich heritage, the numerous cultures, the various cultural art, the ever so welcoming people, the unique spices..etc.

I don't despise the country. But sometimes,i'm not proud to be a part of this country. No,the country is amazing, and i'm privileged to be born and brought up here, and be a part of it.
But, do we know the things that happen behind this lovely portrait painted by the government?
This is what happens in our country. The reality.
We live in a society, where if you hang out with too many boys, you're termed as a slut.

If you're a boy and you hang out with many girls, your family is to be blamed for.
If you're an independent woman, you might be a tough shell.
If you're a widow, you can't remarry.
If you party too much, you've been brought up in a bad house.
If you go do anything wrong, your mother is to blame.
If girls smoke,she's characterless.
If a boy forces a girl to have sex,he's a stud. And the girl is 'easy' to get with.
And till this date, People in villages,or even the urban areas, despise girl children. Especially from the middle class and lower class category.

We call our country incredible despite the fact that the women of this country are demeaned to such a level where they're meant to only sit in 4 walls and cook, clean, take care of kids.

Our country has advanced in so many fields-Art,Law,Science,Economy wise, etc.
And yet, here we are in 2013,where we still disrespect women.
Only the educated people act sensible. And unfortunately, we are an over-populated country, so we can't go to every slum area,or every doorstep & explain to people, that women are so much more than they are treated.

In India,we have very religious people. We forget to see that along side gods, there are also " goddesses ".
I can't say education can help make a big difference. It's always a start though.
And our Government. Useless.

Don't rely on people. Spread the message. Treat women with respect. Your mother is a woman too. Learn to treat the other women with similar respect.
peace.xx

Privilege

"In this fast paced life, we often forget to see.
What i may have, is what you have in your dreams."

Silly.
We often take things for granted. At least i did, till about a week ago!

I always tend to ask my dad for things, and daddy, like the sweetheart that he is,goes right ahead and gets me whatever my heart desires. Anything at all!

So,i never really thought about all that i ask him for. And while packing i realized 'DAMN i have a billion things.'
People call me 'A spoilt brat'. But i prefer the term 'Pampered'.
It isn't a crime. It's actually the best possible feeling.

Anyway, since my life has always been 'i get whatever i want', i never really stopped to see how many people wish they had what i do.
I mean i take so many things for granted! While someone out there wishes to have something that i don't really value.

Sometimes, when you always get what you want, you don't value it. But if there comes a time, when you have to give it up,you realize how important it is.

There might be a billion and one things that i don't give importance to,but now i do.
Cuz you realize at some point you are really privileged.
REALLY REALLY privileged.
Think about all the people out there. Lower than you,who just dream to have a proper roof above their heads and a proper floor to sleep. They don't seem to have any other demand. Those poor souls have to live with what they have. And here,we sit on our beds and surf the internet,24/7.

If you can't help, atleast start cherishing what you have. Be grateful to god,and your parents for everything that you have. Even if you're a spoilt brat, you'll realize it once you think about it.

"Cherish. Love. Be Grateful."
Blessed be xx.

Trash Talk!

Clutter, Dirt, Rubbish, Trash!
Our lives are mostly filled with that!

An important phase in life,is cleaning out the trash.
We all have secrets, memories, and alot many other things that keep holding us back.

So,i've shifted quite a bit in the past 18 years. 4 cities,3 states till date.
When you start packing your bags, you realize you probably won't be coming back for a very long time. It's true, if you're leaving there's a reason to it.
When i was leaving wellington,i told myself that it would be a new start,a new beginning,a whole new chapter to my story.
But,its been a long time since i've gone back.
When i left bangalore,i wasn't too happy with my decision, but i wanted to try something new. Get some different surroundings in my life, so here i am in pune.
When i shifted, honestly i regretted my decision for about a year. And then things just mellowed down.

I didn't feel that good, cuz i just kept suppressing my feelings.
But today, after about 5 years, i cleared out the clutter.
Clutter necessarily doesn't mean your feelings.
Sometimes things/objects from your past influence your mood.
You find old letters, old clothes, and yes,all this counts as trash.
I recently cleared out my stuff and threw out so much.
And it feels so much better.

Also,i realized why i disliked pune for 3 years. Because of all the trash i was holding on to,i never really gave this world of opportunities a chance.
Yes, i was wrong. And yes,i have cleared out my trash.
I'm giving this place a chance !

So,have you taken out your trash yet?

Realization Sinks In

"It's all a trap."

Today(18.07.13),i've learnt one of life's most valuable lessons.
At the beginning of summer,it wasn't important for us to do an internship.
I thought "why not! I've got nothing to lose."

So,i went ahead and started working! It was fun - going all sharply dressed, meeting people from different backgrounds, learning alot in the particular field, etc.
But,you know,i lost out on a few things this month.
My weekdays were booked. My weekends were utilised for selfish reasons.
I lost contact with a few people. And i stopped meeting my friends.
My entire routine went haywire. And my sleeping patterns, whoosh, disappeared.
I started becoming more of an insomniac.
And today, a month later, i feel pretty good.

"
How long has it been since you've felt the smile on your face?"

Its been long since i've felt free.
Long since i've felt the smile on my face.
Long since i've taken a carefree breath.

So,i realized, while growing up,it sounds really cool that we're working and getting a salary!
Yeah bro,it is infact,pretty cool!
But do we realize, we're gonna do this our ENTIRE lives?!
Do we realize, that this very moment is the only one we have ,that we can enjoy?
Sure,it's nice being treated like an adult, with responsibilities, but do we realize we'll be doing this for the rest of our lives.
We have our entire lives ahead us to be responsible,to get stressed out,to have a fixed routine,to not be able to meet our friends.
Why are we spoiling our teenage years doing all this?
Most of us have like alot of teenage years left.
I have a year and 6 months,to be precise.
And after today,i really wanna let life be.
Let life take me where i'm supposed to be. I have no regrets, but i wanna be a carefree child for now.
We don't realize that time keeps moving forward, and we move at a speed where we can't catch up to it.
So go!
Live life! Stop wanting to be all serious and responsible.
Be responsible to an extent, but don't get serious.
For we have the rest of our lives left for all that.
Enjoy xx

Fascination

Fascination.
A word we can all relate to.
We all get fascinated by things, people, places, etc.
One of the main reasons behind this is "appearance".
The appearance of a particular person/thing/place fascinates us,and therefore we like it.

But honestly,is fascination that big of a deal as we portray it to be?
Absolutely NO!

You see,our minds are like professional FIFA players. But instead of football, they play with our hearts.
Our minds link simple things that get exaggerated and influence our feelings.

It isn't anybody's fault. Come to think of it,it's our own fault.
Why do i say that the mind plays with the heart?
This is because often, when we get fascinated by things, with just a look,we think about it.
And during that thinking process,we tend to think of those things as if they were something better than they are.
It's all a figment of our imagination.
Our fascination often takes ideas from our brains.

We all want something, and if we find something similar,we think of it as something that we've been wanting.

It's a phase. It'll pass!

The guy you thought of as perfect, and everything you've ever wanted, isnt.
It's just your mind fooling you.
Stop getting fascinated and leading yourself into a web of your own disaster.
